Handmade 81 - PLAQUES
I don't mind saying that the plaques are a relatively new addition to my crafting repertoire. They came about because I wanted to make something else to sell on my Christmas stall. so I thought christmas plaques would be a nice idea. I use two differnt tequniues, one is to hand paint a deign on the wood, the second is to use the technique of pyrography to burn a design into the wood. Both methods look great when they are finished, I usually seal the design with a layer of satin finish varnish, and add eylets to attach a stiff wire and for a nice fish add a little bow for colour.
Once I started making the christmas plaques I was asked if I could make other variations, including house names and personalised baby names and birthdays. So if there is some thing you would like and you think it would look nice in the form of a plaque please feel free to contact me.
The plaques are made of hard wood with a nicely finished edge, due to it being a natural material the colour and grain of the wood are differnt everytime which makes each piece specially unique!
